Video: Fionn Regan Sings 'North Star Lover' with The Staves

I found a lovely treat for you all to feast your ears on this evening: Mercury Award-winning singer-songwriter Fionn Regan's recent performance of 'North Star Lover' with Rarities' new favourite all-female band, folk trio The Staves.

The Staves, made up of sisters Emily, Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor, joined Fionn Regan in May for his one-off solo show at the Slaughtered Lamb in Swords, Dublin, bringing their distinctively British folk sound to the venue.

In the below video, Fionn performs 'North Star Lover' accompanied by the girls in the Workman's Club, Dublin. The song appears on 100 Acres of Sycamore, Fionn's thrid studio album and the follow-up to his critically acclaimed sophomore release, The Shadow of an Empire. The video is directed by the brilliant Myles O'Reilly, whose talent can be seen in the latest videos for songs from Lisa Hannigan's new studio album, Passenger, and in the video for James Vincent McMorrow's 'We Don't Eat'.

Blending Fionn's pure vocals and his atmospheric and mesmerising sound with The Staves' beautifully layered and lush harmonies, this performance is stunning:
