Rachael Yamagata to Release Third Studio Album

Rachael Yamagata recently announced that she is putting the finishing touches to a brand new forthcoming release, the much anticipated follow up to her fantastic sophomore studio album, Elephants...Teeth Sinking Into Heart. Produced by John Alagia, who worked with her on her 2004 debut album Happenstance, the yet untitled album will be self-released by Yamagata in the Autumn.

Rachael Yamagata's presence became apparent on the music scene in 2005 when songs from Happenstance and her self-titled debut EP began to turn up on TV screens, in shows such as How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill, and The O.C., on which she made a guest appearance. The Virginia born singer-songwriter and pianist has also appeared on albums by Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Jason Mraz and Bright Eyes. Her tours have included runs with Adams, LaMontagne, Liz Phair, Gomez and Sara Bareilles, as well as well as appearing alongside Pete Townsend, Aimee Mann, David Gray and Damien Rice.

Yamagata, who has been praised by critics for her intimately confessional songwriting and stunning arrangements, released her last album, Elephants...Teeth Sinking Into Heart in October of 2008. She toured extensively in support of the album playing to crowds throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Songs from the album have been very well received and have appeared in various TV shows including Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Brothers and Sisters and many more. Check this lady out!

Below is the video for the lead single from Elephants...Teeth Sinking Into Heart, and a live performance of one of my favourite tracks of Yamagata's, 'Be Be Your Love'.
