The Flowerpot Sessions feat. Damien Rice, Kyla La Grange and Marcus Foster

I first mentioned Communion Records (the independent label founded by Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett, producer Ian Grimble and Kev Jones) and the Flowerpot gigs in my piece on newcomer Kyla La Grange (read that post here), and I am very excited to hear that the label will release their stunning double album, The Flowerpot Sessions on Monday, 30th May.

Kyla La Grange
Released through Communion and Island Records, the album, which stretches across 3 CDs, features a series of collaborations between some fantastic artists, including Damien Rice, Kyla La Grange and the hotly tipped Marcus Foster, recorded in the Summer of 2010 at London’s now defunct Flowerpot venue in Kentish Town. A documentary DVD is also included in the package, which features exclusive footage of the week-long Communion recording sessions and gigs.
In their countdown to the release, Communion have made public a teaser video of the Flowerpot Sessions over on their YouTube channel, which you can check out below. It features interviews and performances from the artists mentioned above, as well as members of Mumford & Sons, Lissie, Mt. Desolation, Kill It Kid, Sarah Blasko, Angus & Julia Stone, Matthew & The Atlas and many more. A website was also launched last week featuring exclusive footage and snippets of music across a fully interactive site. Find it here
