Conor Oberst Announces New Bright Eyes Album

Great news for all you
Bright Eyes fans out there: Conor Oberst has revealed details of the indie-rock band's long awaited upcoming album, due to be titled The People's Key, their first studio release since 2007.

Since Bright Eyes started way back in 1995, guitarist and vocalist Conor Oberst has been the only constant member. The band's first official album, A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995-1997, was released in 1998, with a further eight studio albums and 6 EPs following between 1999 and 2007. For the last few years, however, Oberst has sidelined Bright Eyes to focus on his other groups; Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and Monsters of Folk.

The new record is set for release in Ireland on February 11th of next year and is rumoured to be Oberst's last under the Bright Eyes moniker. I'm not going to get hugely excited about this news, considering I was mightily disappointed with the band's last album, Cassadaga, but still- it'll be good to have the band back on our airwaves.

Here's the tracklisting for The People's Key:

01- Firewall
02- Shell Games
03- Jejune Stars
04- Approximate Sunlight
05- Haile Selassie
06- A Machine Spiritual (In the People's Key)
07- Triple Spiral
08- Beginner's Mind
09- Ladder Song
10- One for You, One for Me

And here's one of my favourite songs from one of the band's better albums, I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning:
