SETLIST: RATM, O2 Dublin, 8th June

Rock's loudest and most aggressive voice of dissent played their first gig on Irish soil last night since their victory over X Factor for last year's Christmas No. 1. The gig, which took place at the O2 Dublin, was also the band's first ever non-festival appearance on our lovely island.

Rage Against the Machine opted for a minimalist-enough stage set-up in comparison to some last night, but the loud, angry vocals and spine-tingling guitar riffs more than made up for it. The eager crowd of RATM worshipers had channelled their anger long before arriving at the O2, and certainly revelled in the electric atmosphere. There are plenty of hoarse Irish folks out their today, having screamed their throats raw to the politically-fuelled words of tracks "Testify", "Bombtrack" and "Killing In The Name", among others. Support last night came from purple-obsessed New York gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, who had the crowd laughing and dancing in equal measure, and Brit-hardcore angst-merchants Gallows.
